This Islay beauty does credit to the reputation of Laphroaig as being one of the most peaty whiskies on the market. When opening the bottle you immediately get the impression of smoked ham being cut and prepared for dinner. However there's more to this powerful malt than just peat and smoke : the combination of typical Islay characteristics with sweet Bourbon influences make this a great and memorable dram.

Nose : Instant smoke, medicinal notes and mocha.

Palate : Good mouthfeel. Smoky, peaty and sweet with a dryness on the finish.
