Brachadair is very much a family business : Cedric and Alexander who are in this with me, are my nephews.
Alexander is the creative one, winning ‘Humo’s Kortfilmfestival’ with ‘Fernsehturm’, featuring Tom Van Dyck, Wim Willaert and An Miller. With his company ‘Rumblefish’ he has also covered the performances on the main stage of the ‘Gentse Feesten’ for several years now.
Cedric is the commercial brain, who will try to get us know abroad : since he lives in, and works out of Italy, we hope to get ‘Brachadair’ launched in the rest of Europe, and beyond …
And then there is me, Patrick. I get to do the fun stuff : select the casks, do the tastings, go to events and festivals, make the website ... Hell, it’s a dirty job but someone’s got to do it !!
The idea to start bottling our own whisky, first came up at my mother’s 80th birthday party. After a few meetings we bought our first three casks ... And the rest is history ...
